Head Veterinary Nurse

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Oversee and support the veterinary nursing team.

• Provide mentorship, training, and development for nurses at all experience levels.

• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

• Assist veterinarians during consultations, diagnostics, and procedures.

• Perform surgical nursing, pathology, hospital nursing, and team-based consultations.

• Offer emergency and critical care nursing support as needed.

• Manage stock and inventory effectively.

• Enhance workflow management and operational efficiency.

• Assist with administrative tasks and reception duties when necessary.

• Address client inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email.

• Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs in collaboration with the Practice Manager.

• Seek opportunities to enhance processes and clinic performance.

• Stay actively engaged in hands-on nursing and patient care.


⛳️ Requirements

• Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or an equivalent qualification.

• At least 3+ years of clinical veterinary nursing experience.

• Experience in leadership, mentoring, or senior nursing roles, or readiness to transition into a leadership position.

• Proficient surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring skills.

• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

• Strong communication and customer service abilities.

• Familiarity with RxWorks is preferred but not mandatory.

• Calm, friendly, empathetic, and professional demeanor.

• A positive outlook and a team-oriented mindset.
