This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.
• Strategize and implement the commissioning of protection systems for hydro generators and related equipment.
• Execute parameterization, testing, and validation of digital relays and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) through secondary current and voltage injection.
• Confirm the accuracy of protection logic, cause-and-effect matrices, trip circuits, alarms, and interlocks.
• Carry out comprehensive integration testing among protection, control, automation, and excitation systems.
• Observe protection performance during initial rotation, synchronization, and load rejection tests.
• Evaluate sequence-of-events (SOE) records and oscillography to ensure the integrity of the system.
• Validate CT and PT circuits, ensuring proper connection and polarity adherence.
• Develop procedures and technical reports, and assist Engineering in rectifying design flaws or discrepancies.
• A degree in Electrical Technology, Electronics, Automation, or Electrical Engineering.
• Prior experience in commissioning protection systems within hydroelectric power facilities.
• Proficient understanding of digital relays, IEDs, and secondary injection testing equipment.
• Familiarity with protection functions concerning generators, transformers, and auxiliary systems.
• Intermediate proficiency in English.
• Basic knowledge of Spanish is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel extensively and accept long-term assignments or relocation within Latin American countries.
