Head Start Grantee Specialist – Service Area III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide both onsite and virtual consultations, training, and technical assistance to recipients of Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

• Assist recipients, governing bodies, directors, and program managers in achieving or surpassing Head Start Performance Standards and relevant Federal regulations.

• Address deficiencies and non-compliance issues identified during the federal monitoring process.

• Create and execute Quality Improvement Plans that tackle the root causes of noncompliance and deficiencies.

• Enhance program oversight and management via regional office oversight processes.

• Maintain consistent and timely communication with Regional Office staff concerning TTA delivery and progress on corrective actions or quality improvements.

• Coordinate TTA efforts with specialists in Early Childhood, Family Engagement, Health, and Systems.

• Develop and present training sessions on program management and fiscal operations.

• Support new initiatives and priorities established by the Office of Head Start.

• Travel to onsite locations for durations ranging from one to several consecutive days, as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a BA or BS Degree from an accredited university or college.

• Over 5 years of experience in program and/or organizational management and/or fiscal operations related to HS/EHS programs, including the development and implementation of comprehensive management systems.

• At least 1 year of experience assisting recipients in enhancing the effectiveness and quality of their program operations and management systems.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience providing technical assistance to governing bodies, management teams, and program staff.

• At least 1 year of experience helping organizations resolve compliance issues.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in effective communication, both orally and in writing, to diverse audiences.

• At least 1 year of experience with computer software systems and technological skills in virtual platforms.

• A valid driver's license.

• Successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.

• Preferred fiscal expertise in budgeting, managing multiple funding sources, applicable uniform guidance regulations, Head Start-specific audits, and understanding the fiscal responsibilities of the governing body.

• Candidates must reside in one of the Service Area III states: Delaware, Washington, DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, or West Virginia.
