Head of Technology – Product

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of product direction, encompassing roadmap and prioritization.

• Establish key objectives and metrics, including evaluating automation against actual resolution quality.

• Lead discovery efforts to comprehend the needs of property managers and customers.

• Identify and prioritize the most critical issues.

• Maintain a proactive stance ahead of the engineering team to ensure work is well-defined before it reaches them.

• Oversee the pod structure within the engineering team.

• Develop a formal performance evaluation framework.

• Make decisions related to performance management.

• Act as a liaison between engineering and other business areas by translating operational pressures into relevant business context.

• Collaborate with Shared Services and Customer Success to address product requirements.

• Take responsibility for what the company develops, the rationale behind it, and the organization of the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background in the short-term rental, vacation rental, or property management sectors.

• Familiarity with reservation modifications and OTA compliance.

• Technical background with experience in production coding.

• Proven experience in leading engineering teams.

• Ability to engage hands-on with a small team on a daily basis without the support of a product organization or analysts.

• History of managing a product roadmap and ensuring team delivery in line with it.

• Experience in making prioritization decisions regarding what should not be developed.

• Background in restructuring teams effectively.

• Experience in managing underperformance issues.

• Over 10 years of experience in both product and engineering roles, with experience owning both domains.

• Direct management experience of product managers, engineers, or both.

• Proven track record in restructuring teams to enhance delivery performance.

• Experience in launching AI or automation products where there are trade-offs between coverage and quality.
