This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium, +1 more country.
• Establish the technology vision and multi-year roadmap for Development in alignment with R&D and clinical strategies.
• Serve as the strategic connection between Digital Technology and Development leadership.
• Oversee the portfolio of Development technology initiatives from conception and prioritization to value realization and benefit tracking.
• Lead the implementation of a cohesive digital ecosystem that supports clinical trials, data platforms, and Development operations.
• Provide guidance on Development technologies and convert scientific and operational needs into scalable solutions.
• Ensure that solutions comply with regulatory standards, including GxP, data integrity, and validation requirements.
• Promote innovation and continuous improvement by leveraging digital capabilities and data.
• Encourage collaboration among Development, Data, Regulatory, Quality, and external partners.
• Manage complex programs and dependencies within a global, matrixed environment.
• Advocate for co-creation, accountability, and outcomes-driven delivery.
• Build, lead, and nurture a high-performing global DT Development team.
• Shape and embed the Development operating model within the DT organization.
• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with Development technology vendors.
• Understand vendor capabilities, product trajectories, and innovation agendas to guide technology decisions and maximize business value.
• Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• Over 10 years of experience in Digital Technology / IT within the biopharmaceutical or life sciences sector.
• Extensive experience supporting Clinical Development, R&D, or related GxP-regulated areas.
• Proven history of leading large-scale technology portfolios and transformation initiatives.
• Experience collaborating with senior stakeholders in Development, R&D, or Clinical Operations within a global framework.
• Strong leadership skills, with experience in building and scaling global teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently within cross-functional teams and networks.
• Demonstrated communication skills in a multicultural and multilingual global setting.
• Experience in project management, proactive planning, priority setting, and alignment securing.
• In-depth knowledge of clinical development processes, including clinical trials, study execution, and regulatory requirements.
• Significant experience with Development-related platforms, clinical systems, data platforms, and analytics environments.
• Proven capability to define and implement multi-year technology strategies and roadmaps in complex, regulated settings.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, particularly with senior leadership in global organizations.
• Demonstrated leadership within cross-functional, global teams.
• Minimum of 20% travel required.
