Chief Technical Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kansas.

📋 Description

• Take full P&L responsibility for the CDO business, encompassing revenue, profitability, and growth.

• Establish scientific and technical strategies across analytical development, formulation and process development, technology transfer, and manufacturing science and technology.

• Deliver senior technical leadership in biologics, oral solid dosage, small molecule sterile injectables, extended-release technologies, and soft chews.

• Present Argenta’s technical capabilities directly to clients from business development to program delivery.

• Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Project Management, and Business Development teams.

• Align technical strategy with submissions, compliance, delivery timelines, and client engagements.

• Build and lead a high-performing technical team.

• Develop the technical talent pipeline.

• Act as an enterprise leader on Argenta’s Executive Leadership Team.

• Formulate strategy for a rapidly growing business exceeding $300M.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 20 years of progressive experience in drug development and commercialization.

• Essential strong and demonstrable experience in animal health drug development.

• PhD (or an equivalent advanced degree) in Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field.

• Extensive technical credibility in analytical development and formulation/process development, ideally covering multiple modalities.

• Familiarity with biologics, oral solid dosage, small molecule sterile injectables, extended-release technologies, and soft chews.

• Proven track record of P&L or general management responsibility.

• Comfortable operating at the Executive Leadership Team level and influencing enterprise strategy.

• Postdoctoral experience is preferred.

• An Executive MBA or equivalent is preferred.

• Experience in a private equity-backed setting or managing a multi-site/multi-country manufacturing network is a significant advantage.
