Head of Supply Chain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Oversee a small team responsible for providing supply chain input for bids and proposals.

• Formulate contracting and sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, delivery, technology, and risk.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Commercial, and Legal teams on procurement packages, specifications, delivery models, and cost models.

• Lead supplier engagement and negotiations, securing contract-quality offers and recommendations for approval.

• Gain insights into global and UK supply chain capabilities, capacities, and emerging opportunities.

• Cultivate supplier relationships and conduct reviews with key strategic suppliers.

• Drive category management, cost reduction, value engineering, continuous improvement, and digitalization initiatives.

• Identify strategic supply chain risks and implement management strategies.

• Provide support for major defense bids from initial development to contract award and delivery.

• Travel to other Navantia sites and supplier locations as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven leadership experience in a complex maritime, construction, defense, aerospace, or project-based environment.

• Strong capabilities in procurement, commercial negotiations, contracting, and cost analysis.

• Experience with complex contract models and business cases, preferably supporting NATO or Ministry of Defence contracts.

• Solid understanding of contract law, defense procurement, financial modeling, and supplier risk management.

• Ability to establish trusted relationships with senior suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders.

• Familiarity with ERP systems, bid tools, and export or security requirements such as ITAR.

• A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.

• BPSS security clearance must be obtained as part of the onboarding process.
