Head of Shorts Testing – International

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take full responsibility for each short after post-production by conducting testing, iteration, and final optimization prior to public release.

• Develop four to five strategically distinct versions of each short, incorporating alternative hooks, openings, pacing, story structure, calls to action, and endings.

• Supervise the Testing Assistant in establishing Instagram Trial Reels and Facebook A/B tests.

• Conduct follow-up tests when initial results highlight further opportunities.

• Analyze hook rates, retention charts, drop-off points, completion rates, engagement, and other platform signals.

• Identify areas where viewers lose interest.

• Suggest and implement data-driven editing changes, including requesting new voiceover from Dhar when necessary.

• Establish reporting systems to track versions, hypotheses, results, learnings, next steps, and final publishing recommendations.

• Compare test performance with live post performance to develop KPIs and minimum thresholds for successful public releases.

• Oversee one Testing Assistant and manage the daily workflow of the Shorts Testing Team.

• Report directly to the Head of Shorts.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience analyzing social media content performance, ideally within short-form video, digital media, or the creator economy.

• Extensive working knowledge of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube performance metrics, especially concerning hook rates and audience retention.

• Capability to transform retention-chart declines and platform data into specific creative and editorial recommendations.

• Practical experience in short-form editing.

• Strong grasp of viral storytelling, viewer psychology, opening-image selection, pacing, payoff, and platform-specific audience behavior.

• Experience in creating dashboards, reports, testing frameworks, and practical KPIs.

• Strong sense of ownership and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple videos and testing cycles while ensuring version control.

• Availability to work Monday through Friday with occasional weekend commitments.

• Prompt review of live platform results as needed by testing cycles.
