This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take full responsibility for each short after the post-production phase, ensuring thorough testing, iteration, and final optimization prior to public release.
• Generate four to five strategically varied versions of each short.
• Create alternative hooks, openings, pacing adjustments, story structures, calls to action, and conclusions.
• Supervise the Testing Assistant in organizing Instagram Trial Reels and Facebook A/B testing.
• Conduct follow-up tests when initial results indicate further opportunities.
• Analyze hook rates, retention charts, drop-off points, completion rates, engagement, and additional platform signals.
• Identify where viewers lose interest.
• Suggest and implement editing changes based on performance analytics.
• Request new voiceovers from Dhar when necessary to enhance testing outcomes.
• Develop reporting systems to track versions, hypotheses, results, insights, next steps, and publishing recommendations.
• Evaluate test performance against live post performance to establish KPIs and minimum thresholds.
• Report directly to the Head of Shorts.
• Manage one Testing Assistant and oversee the daily workflow of the Shorts Testing Team.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in analyzing social media content performance, preferably in short-form video, digital media, or the creator economy.
• Comprehensive understanding of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube performance metrics, especially hook rates and audience retention.
• Capability to translate retention-chart declines and platform data into concrete creative and editorial suggestions.
• Practical experience in short-form editing, including the creation of alternate hooks, endings, pacing variations, and test versions.
• Strong grasp of viral storytelling, viewer psychology, selection of opening images, pacing, payoff, and platform-specific audience behavior.
• Experience in constructing dashboards, reports, testing frameworks, and applicable KPIs.
• Demonstrated ownership and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple videos and testing cycles while ensuring version control.
• Occasional weekend work may be necessary.
• Aptitude for reviewing live platform results promptly when testing cycles demand it.
