Head of Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Serve as the security owner for Heartbeat AI GmbH, the software entity within the 1KOMMA5° group.

• Lead the Team Trust within the Core Platforms domain.

• Act as the security liaison for the technology organization and the broader group.

• Guide team direction, recruitment, development, health, and mentoring.

• Safeguard cloud infrastructure, applications, and connected devices in customers' residences.

• Oversee cybersecurity frameworks and regulations relevant to energy enterprises.

• Enhance internal permissions and secure development via identity and access management.

• Establish security capabilities that developers will utilize by default.

• Interpret security risks for non-technical decision-makers, including C-level executives.

• Build the security team and framework while remaining actively engaged with the technology.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in security engineering or leadership roles.

• Proven experience in leading or mentoring engineering teams.

• Technical expertise in cloud security, ideally with Google Cloud Platform.

• In-depth knowledge of infrastructure, CI/CD, identity, and application security.

• Experience in constructing a security framework from the ground up or in a similar capacity with limited initial resources.

• Familiarity with NIST CSF and ISO 27001 standards.

• Ideally, knowledge of NIS2 and KRITIS regulations.

• Strong communication abilities with a knack for conveying security risks to engineers, product managers, and senior business stakeholders.

• A pragmatic and outcome-focused approach.

• Proficient English communication skills.

• Proficiency in German is advantageous.

• Hands-on coding experience is a plus.

• Experience in security within AI-assisted engineering environments, including agentic workflows and guardrails, is a plus.

• Background in managing or coordinating security incident responses is a plus.

• Familiarity with security and IT controls in organizations preparing for a public listing is a plus.

• Experience in a scale-up environment with approximately 100 to 1000 employees is a plus.

• Interest in climate technology and renewable energy is a plus.
