Head of Responsible Individual – Consultancy Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Serve as the designated Responsible Individual for a designated portfolio of Ofsted-registered children's homes.

• Provide governance, oversight, and accountability across service operations.

• Advocate for excellence in safeguarding, care planning, leadership, and operational execution.

• Support and challenge Registered Managers to foster high-performing and compliant services.

• Oversee quality assurance systems and regulatory performance evaluations.

• Review Regulation 44 Reports, Regulation 45 Reviews, safeguarding issues, complaints, incidents, and investigations.

• Ensure adherence to the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and associated Quality Standards.

• Guide services through Ofsted inspections, registration procedures, and improvement initiatives.

• Cultivate relationships with Ofsted and external stakeholders.

• Lead the enhancement and expansion of Delphi's Responsible Individual and consultancy services.

• Provide operational, regulatory, and quality improvement consultancy assistance.

• Support organizations in navigating growth, change, registration, and service development.

• Identify opportunities within the children's residential care sector.

• Establish and maintain client relationships.

• Assist in business development activities, tenders, proposals, and strategic partnerships.

• Represent Delphi as a sector expert and ambassador.

• Conduct service audits and quality assessments.

• Create and implement improvement plans.

• Coach and mentor senior leaders and Registered Managers.

• Identify risks, trends, and opportunities across the services.

• Drive continuous improvement and excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience as a Responsible Individual.

• Extensive leadership experience in children's residential care.

• Background as a Registered Manager, Operations Manager, Regional Manager, Head of Service, Responsible Individual, or Director.

• Comprehensive understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding protocols, and inspection frameworks.

• Strong experience in compliance, governance, and quality assurance.

• Proven track record of service enhancement.

• Exceptional communication and relationship-building capabilities.

• Ability to provide both support and constructive challenge.

• Full UK driving license and willingness to travel nationally.

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (preferred).

• Experience in multi-site operational leadership (preferred).

• Experience in opening and registering children's homes (preferred).

• Consultancy experience (preferred).

• Business development or commercial background (preferred).

• Experience assisting services in moving from Inadequate or Requires Improvement to Good or Outstanding (preferred).

• CV and supporting statement detailing Responsible Individual experience and accomplishments.

• Successful appointment contingent upon appropriate safeguarding and pre-employment checks.
