This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take responsibility for the operational effectiveness of the Recoveries function while translating commercial strategies and goals into a definitive delivery plan and operational framework.
• Oversee the uninsured loss recovery (ULR) service, enhancing efficiency, productivity, quality, recovery prospects, and cash flow acceleration.
• Optimize recovery potential and success rates, ensuring that recoverable claims are promptly identified, pursued, and settled.
• Foster continuous improvement by streamlining processes, eliminating waste, and facilitating automation through software development and technological advancements.
• Establish and monitor quality benchmarks while instilling a culture of getting it right the first time.
• Decrease the recoveries ledger and aged backlog, while expediting days-to-payment and cash flow.
• Engage and negotiate with insurers and claims handling firms, personally managing complex, high-value, or escalated issues.
• Deliver operational MI, insights, and recommendations to the Third Party Claims Director.
• Set, track, and report on operational KPIs, including recovery success, leakage, productivity, days-to-payment, quality, and billing conversion.
• Lead, coach, and develop Recoveries Managers and their teams, while managing their performance.
• Participate in customer performance review meetings and cultivate robust operational relationships.
• Work collaboratively with Finance, Contact Centre, Third Party Intervention, People, and Implementation functions.
• Direct resource and capacity planning, while fostering the development of multiskilled team members.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory, contractual, and compliance obligations.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and development initiatives for the function.
• Address performance, behavioral, and attendance issues in partnership with the People Team.
• Contribute to cross-departmental projects in response to business requirements.
• Demonstrable experience in leading the operational execution of a recoveries, subrogation, credit control, or claims function, preferably in a motor claims, insurance, or legal/recoveries context.
• Proven track record of enhancing operational performance, efficiency, and quality improvements that yield measurable outcomes.
• Experience in leading, developing, and coaching high-performing teams, including the management of team leaders or managers.
• Strong negotiation and influencing capabilities, with a background in dealing with insurers, solicitors, and customer stakeholders.
• Proficient in analyzing data and MI to uncover opportunities, resolve issues, and promote continuous enhancement.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adept at leading change.
