Head of Product Delivery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Define and articulate the vision, strategy, and objectives for Buckhill’s C2MS product.

• Create and sustain a prioritized product roadmap informed by market research, client insights, and business needs.

• Collect and translate requirements from underwriters, brokers, and operations teams within the Lloyd’s and London Market.

• Manage the overall product backlog, ensuring that user stories and acceptance criteria are well-defined.

• Collaborate with Client Product Owners, Delivery Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, Designers, Solutions Engineers, Customer Support, and QA teams.

• Make informed trade-off decisions based on value, effort, and impact.

• Work alongside marketing, sales, and support teams to facilitate product launches, adoption, and growth.

• Analyze product performance through metrics and KPIs to promote continuous improvement.

• Advocate for the client perspective throughout the product development process.

• Identify and address product risks effectively.

• Ensure that solutions comply with Lloyd’s Market regulatory, compliance, and operational standards.

• Utilize AI tools, including Claude, for product discovery, user story development, and backlog management.

• Promote AI-assisted methodologies and identify opportunities for AI-enabled products.

• Travel to engage with clients and partners as required.

• Oversee and develop the Client Product Owner team, including setting goals, conducting 1:1s, reviews, and development planning.

• Manage team capability and capacity planning, encompassing recruitment, onboarding, workload distribution, and succession planning.

• Establish consistent product standards across the team.

• Enhance the team’s knowledge of the London Market, including CII LM1 and LM2 training.

• Serve as the escalation point for product decisions and conflicting stakeholder priorities.

• Represent Product Management & Delivery in leadership forums and contribute to organizational and resource planning.

• Foster a culture of accountability, evidence-based decision-making, and continuous learning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in the Lloyd’s of London or broader London Market, acquired in underwriting operations, market operations, delivery, change, or a similar role within a managing agent, broker, MGA, or market service provider.

• Comprehensive understanding of London Market processes, including placement, policy administration, premium processing, delegated authority, coverholder operations, claims, and the specific regulatory environment of Lloyd’s.

• Familiarity with Agile delivery and the Product Owner role, whether as a practitioner, a senior business stakeholder to a product or change team, or through formal training.

• Proven experience in leading, managing, or developing individuals.

• A history of translating operational challenges into system or process enhancements.

• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

• An analytical mindset, proficiency in data-driven decision-making, and a strong attention to detail.

• Comfortable with AI tools and a proactive approach to integrating them into work practices.

• Reside in the UK with the right to work there; willing to travel occasionally.

• Previous formal experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager is preferred.

• Product certifications such as PSPO or equivalent are advantageous.

• CII qualifications, particularly LM1 or LM2, or progress towards them, are beneficial.

• Experience in insurance technology implementation, data migration, or vendor-side delivery is desirable.

• A broader background in InsurTech or FinTech is a plus.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or a relevant postgraduate qualification, is preferable.
