Head of Planning – Design & Construction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the strategic planning and preconstruction phases of capital projects within Cavu's airport hospitality portfolio.

• Evaluate new opportunities in collaboration with Business Development, questioning assumptions regarding cost, scope, timeline, and delivery risks.

• Direct due diligence, feasibility studies, design, and preconstruction efforts to ensure the commercial and operational viability of projects.

• Create and oversee frameworks for consultants, design firms, project management partners, and contractors across Cavu's various markets.

• Manage budgets, project controls, risk assessments, and governance to ensure projects are positioned for successful execution.

• Collaborate with the Capital Delivery team on select high-profile projects, assisting in the delivery process from award to opening and close-out.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in design, construction, or capital project management, with a proven track record of advancing into strategic or program-level roles.

• Essential experience in aviation/airport environments, with a deep understanding of the complexities involved in operating within highly regulated, live airport settings.

• Strong background in preconstruction and project planning, including feasibility studies, bid development, scope definition, and risk analysis.

• Commercially savvy, with the ability to question assumptions, manage costs effectively, and align delivery requirements with business goals.

• Experience in managing consultants, contractors, and external partners, preferably across various disciplines.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the capability to influence senior internal teams and external partners.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field is preferred.

• PMP or a similar professional certification would be advantageous.
