This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Work alongside a diverse team of professionals and consultants to create comprehensive designs for data center control systems.
• Develop Building Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EPMS), DDC/PLC/SCADA networks, and equipment control sequences.
• Produce technical specifications, points lists, and control narratives/sequences of operation.
• Ensure that control designs adhere to local building regulations, industry standards, NFPA, IEEE, and requirements for cybersecurity/OT networks.
• Integrate architectural designs and redundancy practices to reduce the risk of downtime.
• Assess and choose vendors and suppliers for controls hardware, software platforms, and network components.
• Identify risks associated with control systems, including potential failure modes, cybersecurity vulnerabilities, and single points of failure, while formulating mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and other relevant parties.
• Keep accurate records of design modifications, points lists, sequences of operation, and engineering documentation.
• Offer technical assistance throughout construction, commissioning, and the integration of control systems.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a similar discipline.
• Over 5 years of demonstrable experience in designing control and automation systems for data centers or mission-critical facilities.
• Expertise in controls engineering software, PLC programming platforms, and BMS/EPMS configuration tools.
• Comprehensive understanding of BMS, EPMS, SCADA architectures, and control sequences for mission-critical facilities.
• Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and project management skills.
• Capacity to effectively collaborate within a team-oriented environment.
