This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Conduct structural analysis and design for foundation systems, including direct embed, drilled piers, spread footings, piles, and caissons.
• Analyze and design wood, tubular steel, lattice steel, precast concrete, fiber-reinforced, and laminated wood pole and support structures.
• Design retaining wall systems, which encompass soldier pile walls, rock anchors, and grouting solutions.
• Review geotechnical reports, survey data, mapping, and materials testing results utilizing industry-standard modeling software.
• Collaborate with the Drafting Group to create precise and constructible CAD design drawings.
• Plan, outline, and oversee the structural scope of work, which includes task definition, scheduling, and timely delivery.
• Engage directly with clients to clarify their requirements and offer value engineering solutions.
• Work in partnership with Project Managers and Civil, Substation, and Transmission engineering teams.
• Assess environmental impacts and project-related risks.
• Provide designs that comply with relevant codes, standards, specifications, regulatory requirements, and health and safety guidelines.
• Prepare specifications for construction and materials.
• Develop bills of materials (BOMs).
• Establish, implement, and maintain QA/QC procedures.
• Manage several concurrent projects and coordinate assigned tasks.
• A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in structural engineering consulting and design.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Proficiency in STAAD Pro is essential.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, LPILE, MFAD, RISA, MathCAD, PLS-CADD, TOWER, and POLE is preferred.
• Experience in supporting permitting, engineering design, and construction activities.
• Substation engineering consulting experience is preferred.
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with a strong emphasis on client service.
• Self-motivated professional with the ability to exercise independent judgment.
• Proven capability to manage multiple tasks and swiftly adapt to changing priorities.
• Working knowledge of applicable design codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE, AISC/ANSI, ACI, ASTM, NESC, and IEEE.
• Must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States upon hire.
