This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage daily business operations, allowing the CEO to concentrate on strategy, vision, and growth.
• Oversee finance, legal, personnel, and operations from start to finish.
• Initially supervise growth and sales, including the Head of Sales & Partnerships, until a dedicated growth and revenue leader is appointed.
• Evaluate finance, legal matters, contracts, payroll, compliance, and decision-making processes during the initial 90 days.
• Develop the operations, finance, legal, and personnel functions, including hiring strategies.
• Enhance and standardize audits, curator contracts, and fundraising documentation.
• Manage budgeting, cash flow, forecasting, reporting, and the financial model.
• Lead the Head of Finance and oversee marketplace payments, payouts, reconciliation, and tax obligations.
• Establish revenue and growth objectives with the CEO and ensure their achievement.
• Manage curator and supply partnership contracts and oversee external legal firms and expenditures.
• Ensure compliance across various jurisdictions, including entities, data protection, and payment regulations.
• Handle fundraising operations, investment documentation, shareholder resolutions, cap table, and equity management.
• Take charge of financial and investor reporting as well as readiness for due diligence.
• Collaborate with the Head of People to manage payroll, contractors, compensation, and equity administration.
• Translate the CEO’s vision into company objectives and plans, monitor progress, and hold teams accountable.
• Act on the CEO's behalf during her travels or when she is unavailable.
• Build functions hands-on and recruit additional team members as needed.
• Proven experience as a COO, Head of Operations, Chief of Staff, finance leader, or founder in a rapidly growing tech startup.
• Background in consumer tech, travel tech, or fintech, preferably within a marketplace setting.
• Experience navigating through Series A funding and beyond.
• Extensive hands-on finance expertise.
• Familiarity with payments and money flows within a marketplace context.
• Comfortable dealing with contracts, fundraising documentation, and compliance across multiple countries.
• Capable of leading senior personnel in finance, legal, and operations.
• Assertive, straightforward, and resistant to unnecessary complexity.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
• Discreet, honest, and prompt in communicating unfavorable news.
• Nice to have: experience with EU company structures, particularly Estonian.
• Nice to have: experience in marketplace payments or event ticketing.
• Nice to have: background in investment banking, consulting, or auditing.
• Work 100% remotely with a diverse international team.
