Head of ML

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands, +7 more countries.

📋 Description

• Identify, prioritize, and advocate for high-impact AI projects that align with JetBrains' product strategy and yield measurable business value.

• Lead a team of approximately 50 individuals across various AI initiatives, including the recruitment and development of team leads, ML engineers, and MLOps specialists.

• Establish the technical direction for JetBrains’ ML roadmap, transforming cutting-edge AI advancements into practical product innovations.

• Ensure that projects fulfill commitments and generate measurable value.

• Define technical standards, architectural direction, and best practices for ML development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Ability to balance long-term R&D with immediate product requirements.

• Proven experience in launching production ML systems that are actively utilized by users.

• Experience in constructing business cases for technical projects.

• In-depth knowledge of modern ML infrastructure, LLMs, and AI tooling.

• Exceptional stakeholder management skills and comfort in collaborating with senior leaders.

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects concurrently.

• Strong management and communication skills.

• Meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.

• Experience with distributed training of multi-billion parameter models.

• Familiarity with CI systems, workflow automation, and experiment tracking.

• Proficiency in the Kotlin programming language.
