Head of IT

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement the organization’s IT strategy to align with business objectives and growth aspirations.

• Work closely with senior leadership to pinpoint technology opportunities that foster innovation and enhance operational efficiency.

• Serve as a strategic consultant for technology implementation, ensuring scalability and long-term planning considerations.

• Supervise the administration of Microsoft 365 (M365), covering user access, email, collaboration tools, and security measures.

• Ensure effective management of domains, cloud infrastructure, and data integrity across various platforms.

• Uphold IT infrastructure uptime, performance, and reliability, minimizing disruptions to business operations.

• Collaborate with external vendors to manage and optimize essential business applications, including but not limited to: NetSuite, Mavenlink, ZenQMS, and ZenDesk.

• Assess vendor performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

• Oversee integrations between internal systems and external applications.

• Lead and mentor a small internal IT team, promoting professional growth and teamwork.

• Assign operational tasks while ensuring that the team provides high-quality support and services.

• Establish and monitor team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) concerning system uptime, incident resolution, and user satisfaction.

• Implement and sustain cybersecurity protocols to safeguard sensitive company and client information.

• Ensure compliance with regional and industry standards, including GDPR, the UK Data Protection Act, and other pharmaceutical-specific regulations.

• Conduct regular audits of IT systems and processes to identify vulnerabilities and secure data integrity.

• Ensure prompt resolution of IT issues and offer guidance to employees using internal systems and applications.

• Create and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills with M365 and other tools.

• Maintain an IT help desk function to support daily operations.

• Oversee the IT budget, including forecasting, cost management, and vendor expenditures.

• Optimize IT resources to achieve a balance between cost-effectiveness and performance.

• Assess and suggest new technologies to boost operational efficiency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).

• Over 8 years of experience in IT leadership positions, ideally in a mid-sized company or within the pharmaceutical or software sectors.

• Proven experience in managing cloud infrastructure and SaaS platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS).

• Expertise in managing Microsoft 365 (M365), including its security and collaboration features.

• Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite, project management tools like Mavenlink, quality management systems like ZenQMS, and customer support platforms like ZenDesk.

• Understanding of cloud infrastructure management and domain administration.

• Strong grasp of cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, UK Data Protection Act).
