This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Allocate a minimum of 50% of your time in international regions to lead and engage in direct selling activities, such as prospecting, customer meetings, presentations, negotiations, and closing deals.
• Cultivate and sustain relationships with distributors, channel partners, and strategic partner organizations.
• Set expectations, create joint business plans, and establish performance goals to enhance revenue and market penetration.
• Lead, develop, mentor, and coach a field-based sales team.
• Assess and qualify sales opportunities while ensuring a robust pipeline is maintained.
• Identify high-potential opportunities, prioritize sales efforts and resources, and drive activities for both direct and channel sales.
• Set and evaluate performance metrics for distributors and partners.
• Formulate action plans to rectify performance gaps.
• Stay informed about VHL’s K12 print and digital products and their market relevance.
• Track customer trends, market landscape, competitive insights, and consumer behaviors.
• Offer feedback and prepare regular reports for leadership on regional performance, pipeline status, forecasting, market trends, partner performance, and emerging opportunities.
• Present to customers, prospects, distributors, partner organizations, and internal stakeholders.
• Manage sales and opportunity data within Salesforce.com to aid in sales execution, forecasting, and business decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• Over 10 years of successful experience in field-oriented consultative sales within the education, publishing, ed-tech, or a similar industry.
• Familiarity with international adoption processes related to educational products and materials.
• At least 3 years of leadership experience in managing and developing remote or field-based sales team members, demonstrating a strong player-coach mentality.
• Proven experience in managing or collaborating with distributors, channel partners, resellers, or other third-party organizations to drive sales and market growth.
• High proficiency in utilizing sales tools, CRMs, and other technologies for analyzing sales data and generating precise regional forecasts.
• Strong customer service orientation focused on building long-term relationships with customers and partners.
• Outstanding sales skills, including strategic thinking, prospecting, planning, presentation, negotiation, relationship building, territory management, and active listening.
• Exceptional attention to detail in managing customer and partner relationships, the quality of the market opportunity pipeline, and deal processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, complemented by advanced presentation and technology skills.
• Capability to strategically plan effective business travel, including setting appointments.
• Willingness and ability to travel within the region (50-60%+) without restrictions.
• Preferred: experience in selling English language learning solutions within the education sector.
• Preferred: background in the English Language Teaching education space.
• Preferred: experience with Salesforce.com.
• Preferred: familiarity with VHL’s product offerings.
