This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.
• Assume complete responsibility for the finance function, establishing priorities, identifying risks and gaps, and creating processes and controls to facilitate ongoing growth.
• Collaborate with the CEO by delivering financial insights, recommendations, and challenges regarding costs, investments, profitability, cash position, and business priorities.
• Lead the internal Finance Controller and manage relationships with external accountants and auditors.
• Oversee bookkeeping, reconciliations, accounting records, supporting documentation, and maintain high-quality financial data.
• Enhance management reporting, including P&L, cash flow, budget vs. actuals, project profitability, margin analysis, and key business performance indicators.
• Develop capabilities for budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning.
• Evaluate the financial feasibility of initiatives, investments, projects, and cost-saving opportunities, considering ROI, cash impact, risk, and strategic value.
• Supervise operational finance processes, including client invoicing, payments, contractor payouts, billing data, approval workflows, and receivables.
• Assist with financial operations involving foreign clients and non-resident entities, including international invoicing, cross-border payments, contracts, and financial documentation.
• Coordinate local annual audits, ensuring all necessary information and supporting documents are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
• Review VAT-related and other accounting or tax documents prior to submission to external accountants.
• Streamline, automate, and document finance processes, controls, reporting workflows, approval procedures, and governance standards.
• Implement automation through advanced spreadsheets, accounting systems, BI tools, integrations, scripts, or AI-assisted workflows.
• Contribute to the future development of BI dashboards and a scalable reporting infrastructure.
• Communicate financial risks, issues, and recommendations to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• 7+ years of experience in finance, accounting, financial control, audit, or management reporting.
• Prior experience in IT, software development, IT outsourcing, SaaS, or another international service-oriented business.
• Proven track record of taking comprehensive ownership of a finance function or a significant finance area within a growing or scaling organization.
• Strong practical knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, reconciliations, management reporting, audit readiness, and month-end or year-end closing processes.
• Experience in preparing and interpreting management reports such as P&L, cash flow, budget vs. actuals, profitability, and margin analysis.
• Ability to convert financial data into actionable business recommendations and assist leadership in prioritizing costs, investments, and strategic initiatives.
• Demonstrated capacity to make independent decisions, challenge assumptions, and influence senior stakeholders through clear financial analysis.
• Experience working with foreign clients, non-resident entities, international invoicing, cross-border payments, and associated financial documentation.
• Experience managing or supervising finance professionals and coordinating with external accountants, auditors, or other service providers.
• Hands-on experience with finance operations, including invoicing, payments, receivables, approvals, and supporting documentation.
• Strong process-building mindset, with examples of developing or enhancing finance processes that can operate independently of constant personal oversight.
• Proficiency in advanced Excel or Google Sheets for reconciliations, reporting, financial analysis, modeling, and data validation.
• Familiarity with accounting/reporting systems such as QuickBooks Online or similar tools.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment where certain processes may still require definition or restructuring.
• Advanced written and spoken English proficiency.
• Previous Big 4 experience in audit, assurance, accounting advisory, or consulting is highly advantageous.
• Hands-on experience coordinating finance, accounting, or audit processes for UK or Cyprus entities is a significant advantage.
• Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau, reporting automation, SQL, scripting, or system integrations is a valuable asset.
• Practical use of AI tools to enhance finance operations, reporting, analysis, documentation, or learning, with a clear understanding of confidentiality and result validation is a strong advantage.
