This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Provide strategic leadership for Rethink Mental Illness in support of the Department of Health and Social Care's review and implementation programme for the Mental Health Act Code of Practice.
• Engage primarily with Ethnic Minority and Racialised Communities.
• Cultivate relationships with government departments, NHS England, voluntary sector partners, community organizations, and individuals with lived experience.
• Ensure that lived experience and community perspectives are at the forefront of policy development and execution.
• Play a role in the broader Equity and Racial Justice strategy.
• Advocate for policy, practice, and systems that address mental health inequalities within communities.
• Provide line management and strategic guidance to the Equity and Racial Justice Manager.
• Supervise the Faith and Mental Health and Sanctuary Seeking and Mental Health workstreams.
• Establish and nurture influential partnerships within the sector.
• Lead multifaceted programs, manage budgets, establish governance processes, and oversee risk management.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for income generation.
• Serve as a senior leader within the Policy and Practice Leadership Team.
• Extensive experience in leading complex programs, influencing policy, and driving impactful change through collaborative efforts.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the mental health experiences and needs of racialized communities, including faith-based groups and individuals seeking sanctuary.
• Proven experience in leading national programs, projects, or policy initiatives.
• Demonstrated success in building and managing relationships with government departments, statutory agencies, or national system partners.
• Experience in securing funding, developing partnerships, and generating income from diverse sources.
• Experience in line management, coaching, and the development of staff.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing abilities.
• Capacity to collaborate across teams and organizations to achieve common goals.
• Confidence and credibility to lead transformations, challenge inequalities, and influence key decision-makers.
• Home-based with flexible working arrangements.
• London allowance if applicable.
• Maternity cover contract.
