Head of Development – Data-Viz, B2B SaaS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Lead and expand the engineering team across Dataviz, Frontend, Backend, Integrations, and DevOps.

• Establish technical direction, assist team members in overcoming obstacles, conduct code reviews, and elevate quality standards.

• Take ownership of the overall architecture, technology selections, and platform scalability.

• Guide TypeScript/React development for web and desktop applications, as well as Go/Postgres backend development.

• Propel the development of the browser-based TypeScript data visualization engine and interaction interfaces.

• Manage third-party integrations, including Google Slides, Microsoft PowerPoint, SSO/IdP providers, and software stores.

• Operate CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.

• Oversee production systems on Vercel and AWS, encompassing ECS and RDS.

• Manage Docker-based preview environments.

• Maintain critical systems such as GitHub, CircleCI, ZenDesk, Google Workspace, payment, and accounting integrations.

• Assist in upholding data protection and security standards, documentation, and policies.

• Manage technical risks effectively.

• Coordinate releases, troubleshoot bugs, collaborate with engineers, and resolve customer integration issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Exceptional written and verbal English skills (essential).

• Proficiency in German is an advantage.

• Over 3 years of practical software engineering experience.

• Some experience in leading or mentoring a team, whether formally or informally.

• Extensive, hands-on knowledge of TypeScript/React and Go.

• Strong experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.

• Familiarity with modern DevOps and CI/CD methodologies.

• Experience in building third-party integrations and designing clean APIs.

• Proven track record of delivering in a SaaS environment with continuous deployment.

• Genuine enthusiasm for data visualization.

• Strong communication abilities and a commercial mindset.

• A proactive approach to tasks.

• Experience with Postgres at scale, Office/Google add-ins, and Vercel/ECS/RDS production environments is a plus.
