Head of Developer Relations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Define and spearhead Factory's strategy for developer relations encompassing technical content, community engagement, events, partnerships, and social media channels.

• Serve as Factory's external representative through platforms like LinkedIn, X, conferences, podcasts, livestreams, and developer communities.

• Create tutorials, demos, sample applications, reference implementations, documentation, and case studies.

• Illustrate how Droids enhance software development workflows and expedite users’ understanding of Factory’s value.

• Foster an active and self-sustaining developer community.

• Cultivate relationships with key developers, open-source maintainers, AI companies, research groups, and technology partners.

• Design and implement workshops, meetups, hackathons, launch programs, and conference activations.

• Establish feedback channels between developers and Factory’s Product and Engineering teams.

• Keep abreast of developments in AI, developer tools, and software engineering to maintain Factory's relevance and distinctiveness.

• Champion developer-first decision-making in areas such as product, documentation, onboarding, and developer experience.

• Define and measure success metrics that encompass developer adoption, engagement, content performance, community health, and product feedback.

• Extensive experience in developer relations, developer education, product management, software engineering, or technical leadership.

• Strong technical credibility with the capability to build, demonstrate, and explain modern software development workflows.

• A respected figure within the developer community with a proven track record of producing reliable, shareable content.

• Experience in building and scaling developer communities, programs, or ecosystems.

• In-depth knowledge of AI-assisted development, coding agents, developer tools, open source, and emerging engineering methodologies.

• Ability to convert complex technical capabilities into clear and compelling narratives.

• Outstanding written, verbal, on-camera, and public speaking abilities.

• Strong product instincts and experience collaborating closely with Engineering and Product teams.

• Metrics-focused approach to developer adoption and community investment.

• High initiative and capability to develop a function in a dynamic environment with limited structure.
