This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead a high-impact team dedicated to enhancing developer workflows, minimizing friction, and improving the engineering experience.

• Oversee the development and upkeep of CI/CD pipelines, build systems, internal tools, AI-driven internal tooling, and agents.

• Ensure that developer infrastructure is scalable, dependable, and secure.

• Evaluate and implement AI-native technologies while accounting for token economics, compute costs, AI expenditure, and productivity enhancements.

• Build, mentor, and lead a developer productivity engineering team.

• Promote collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the team.

• Set objectives and provide consistent feedback in collaboration with the Director.

• Assess the AI fluency of team members and establish individual growth targets.

• Coach on AI fluency through one-on-ones, peer knowledge sharing, experimentation, safe-to-fail projects, and learning sprints.

• Acknowledge AI-driven performance improvements during evaluation discussions.

• Work with engineering, product, and design teams to align on priorities.

• Advocate for developer needs and convey capabilities and limitations to non-technical stakeholders.

• Create specifications, rules files, and documentation that enhance AI effectiveness.

• Define and monitor metrics related to developer productivity, satisfaction, AI adoption, and AI-driven productivity improvements.

• Leverage data-driven insights to prioritize initiatives and demonstrate impact.

• Refine processes to enhance engineering velocity and quality.

• Identify and resolve development lifecycle challenges through AI-augmented workflows.

• Promote the use of AI coding tools, including Cursor, Brain, and copilots.

• Ensure the team has access to and actively utilizes AI tools, while removing barriers related to tooling, access, and training.

• Design AI-augmented development workflows that significantly increase team velocity.

• Mentor engineers on planning, delegating tasks to agents, reviewing with discernment, and delivering results with speed.

• Ensure adherence to AI usage guidelines regarding data management, code review, and intellectual property.

• Proactively identify security, correctness, and licensing risks associated with AI-generated code.

• Maintain transparency regarding AI tools and their usage.

• Conduct retrospectives and feedback loops on AI-related outcomes.

• Review AI-generated outputs to establish shared quality benchmarks.


⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering.

• 3+ years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.

• Strong understanding of developer tools, CI/CD pipelines, and contemporary software development methodologies.

• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, or similar.

• Knowledge of incorporating AI coding tools into engineering workflows.

• Demonstrated AI Augmented proficiency or above; utilize AI tools daily and have guided others in effective AI-assisted development.

• Familiarity with prompt engineering, context engineering, and token economics.

• Experience with the 80/20 principle and managing tasks across humans and AI agents.

• Sound judgment on when to delegate tasks to AI versus when human decision-making is essential.

• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams.

• Experience in assessing and developing AI fluency within a team.

• History of identifying inefficiencies and implementing scalable solutions, including AI-powered tools and evaluation frameworks.

• Understanding of both AI and non-AI risks, including security, correctness, licensing, and data management.

• Experience in establishing quality standards for outputs.

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Capability to explain AI capabilities and limitations to non-technical audiences.

• Passionate about enhancing developer experiences and driving organizational impact through AI-native practices.

• Customer-centric mindset.

• Legal authorization to work in the country of residence.
