Head of Delivery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Lead and expand Roboflow’s Delivery organization, which encompasses Implementation Engineering and Forward Deployed Engineering.

• Develop the organizational framework, roles, processes, and operational cadence.

• Collaborate directly with customers and teams on intricate implementations and deployments.

• Engage in architecture discussions, deployment scoping, troubleshooting, and high-level customer conversations.

• Establish repeatable frameworks for scoping, implementation, deployment, escalation, and handoff procedures.

• Collaborate with Sales and Solutions Architects prior to contract signing to ensure successful deployments.

• Define and assess metrics for implementation success, time-to-value, deployment health, and customer outcomes.

• Enhance scalability through people, processes, products, documentation, tools, and automation.

• Recruit, mentor, and develop Implementation Engineers and Forward Deployed Engineers.

• Create feedback mechanisms with Product and Engineering teams based on customer technical challenges.

• Collaborate with Sales, Solutions Architects, Support, and Partnerships throughout the customer journey.

• Design an operational model, enhance deployment consistency, expedite production readiness, and support increasingly complex customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in building or leading a customer-facing technical delivery, forward deployed engineering, implementation engineering, professional services, or a similar organization within a technical software firm.

• Highly technical and adept at collaborating with engineers on complex customer challenges.

• Hands-on leadership style.

• Personal experience in engaging with customers on intricate implementations and transitioning proof of concepts into production systems.

• Capability to balance the unique needs of customers with scalable product and organizational demands.

• Outstanding people leadership abilities, including attracting, nurturing, and retaining highly skilled, high-agency talent.

• Capacity to engage effectively with both technical and business audiences.

• Strong judgment in prioritizing tasks and allocating resources.

• Ability to excel while developing a playbook in a dynamic environment.

• Experience in establishing a Delivery or Forward Deployed Engineering function from an earlier stage.

• Background in developer tools, infrastructure, AI/ML, data platforms, robotics, computer vision, or another highly technical product domain.

• Experience in supporting deployments that involve both software and the physical environment.

• Familiarity with enterprise customers and complex, multi-stakeholder deployments.

• Experience in enhancing time-to-value or making service-heavy operations more repeatable and scalable.

• Proven track record in owning the entire customer success process.
