This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.
• Oversee the comprehensive technical design and architecture of the organization's data centers.
• Establish and uphold the Basis of Design, which encompasses modular POD architecture, cooling strategies, power topology, fire suppression, and networking.
• Set design benchmarks for IT deployment, including rack layouts, containerization, and CDU placement.
• Conduct design reviews and authorize engineering drawings across various disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, structural, fire, and networking.
• Be accountable for PUE, capacity, and reliability objectives at the design phase.
• Collaborate with equipment and technology partners regarding specifications and integration needs.
• Partner with implementation teams to confirm that construction execution aligns with the approved design intentions.
• Assess and endorse design modifications for technical implications, including cooling, power, capacity, and redundancy.
• Spearhead site-selection criteria and feasibility assessments that include power availability, grid connections, and cooling alternatives.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center design or in critical infrastructure, industrial, or energy project design—data center experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Demonstrable ownership of, or significant involvement in, Basis of Design documentation for large-scale facilities.
• At least 3 years in a design leadership position.
• Strong technical proficiency in power topology and cooling strategies.
• A practical understanding of fire suppression and structural loading adequate for cross-disciplinary coordination.
• Proven history of leading multidisciplinary design reviews and approving engineering drawings across various trades.
• Proficient in English for international technical documentation and stakeholder communications.
• Familiarity with modular/POD-based deployment architectures and high-density GPU/HPC compute environments is preferred.
• Experience with direct liquid cooling (DLC) systems is a plus.
• Tier III/IV certification (Uptime Institute), or direct involvement with certification processes, is advantageous.
• Experience in evaluating site feasibility is a plus.
• Familiarity with NVIDIA GB200/GB300 or comparable high-density GPU cluster infrastructure is an asset.
• Background that covers both design and construction execution phases is a plus.
• Experience with EU regulatory frameworks related to power, environmental, and building compliance is preferred.
