Head of Data, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete E6 data and AI strategy, ensuring a unified source of truth and the integration of AI products into daily operations.

• Lead and develop a team of four professionals specializing in data engineering, analytics, and AI.

• Establish priorities and enhance team capabilities.

• Manage E6’s global cloud computing infrastructure, taking responsibility for capacity, cost management, performance, and security.

• Provide governed, real-time data foundations across six manufacturing sites.

• Create reliable datasets, common definitions, master data, and quality control measures.

• Transition AI projects from pilot phases to integrated use cases that deliver measurable value while adhering to responsible-use guidelines.

• Define and uphold data governance, ethical standards, and privacy policies in accordance with the Data Trust and Integrity framework and applicable regulations.

• Collaborate with senior stakeholders at E6 and De Beers to secure funding and showcase returns on investment.

• Support global manufacturing operations around the clock.

• Report directly to the Head of IT and Digital Transformation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven ability to set a data vision and direction as a strategic leader.

• Experience in establishing data governance and ethical standards.

• Familiarity with data pipelines, APIs, and scalable data engineering solutions.

• Knowledge of machine learning and applied AI, particularly in identifying valuable use cases.

• Hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure, specifically with Azure and Databricks.

• Proficiency in managing cloud costs, capacity, resilience, and security measures.

• Capability to influence senior stakeholders, including CFOs and plant managers.

• Experience in leading and nurturing technical teams, preferably across various locations or time zones.

• Ability to provide documentation confirming eligibility to work in Ireland.
