Head of Credit Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Estonia.

📋 Description

• Lead and oversee Country Credit Managers across various European markets.

• Enhance portfolio performance by balancing growth, profitability, and credit risk.

• Manage the connection between portfolio performance and commercial results.

• Conduct regular business reviews with each market to ensure accountability for outcomes.

• Proactively identify risks and opportunities, ensuring prompt actions and decisions.

• Coach and assist experienced credit leaders while promoting collaboration among markets.

• Evaluate and challenge market proposals regarding underwriting, portfolio expansion, and policy modifications.

• Represent country credit teams in cross-functional leadership meetings.

• Transform complex portfolio data into clear business recommendations for senior leadership.

• Collaborate with the Credit Strategy team to ensure that global models and policies align with local market conditions.

• Contribute to the launch of new markets and assess growth opportunities from both risk and commercial viewpoints.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in leading consumer lending or credit portfolio teams within fintech, banking, or other credit-focused businesses.

• Demonstrated success in managing credit portfolios across multiple markets, with strong commercial accountability and measurable business impact.

• Experience in leading senior credit professionals and developing high-performing teams.

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and decision-making abilities.

• A comprehensive understanding of portfolio economics and the impact of credit decisions on P&L.

• Proficient in using data to inform commercial decisions, including experience with SQL or similar analytical tools.

• Solid knowledge of credit risk concepts such as Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD), scorecards, and portfolio performance.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with Credit Strategy, Risk Analytics, and Data Science teams.
