This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead clinical outcomes for Pulse, Sword's AI-driven cardiometabolic care solution that covers hypertension, pre-diabetes, and GLP-1 support.
• Collaborate strategically and tactically with teams in Product, Go-to-Market, Clinical Operations, and Clinical Affairs & Research.
• Report directly to the General Manager while working in close partnership with the Chief Medical Officer and the SVP for Clinical & Regulatory Affairs.
• Ensure that clinical requirements are accurately integrated into product features, AI functionalities, operational workflows, member interactions, and external communications.
• Oversee the architecture of clinical programs, as well as establishing external clinical credibility and thought leadership for market entry.
• Provide clinical insights during product development phases.
• Manage the clinical quality of Pulse's AI-enabled three-way chat interface.
• Set and maintain clinical quality standards for Clinical Operations.
• Establish clinical validation benchmarks for new features, workflows, interventions, and AI-supported experiences both pre- and post-launch.
• Apply clinical expertise to assess features and calibrate clinical rigor according to feature risk.
• Offer clinical knowledge in the development and refinement of Product Requirement Documents (PRDs).
• Analyze and interpret feedback from members and clinicians, linking insights to roadmap and program strategies.
• Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes, guiding necessary changes to programs, protocols, products, workflows, or training.
• Identify clinical constraints early in the development process.
• Help clarify the intended clinical role, therapeutic limits, and prohibited actions within Pulse's AI-supported experiences.
• Collaborate with Product and AI teams on the development of prompting and harness layers, including guidelines, guardrails, knowledge bases, and escalation protocols.
• Co-create clinical evaluation metrics, acceptance standards, release criteria, and annotation requirements.
• Define clinical content for training annotators, including sample annotations.
• Analyze annotator feedback to determine necessary changes in training, evaluation criteria, prompts, guardrails, or product behavior.
• Contribute to post-launch clinical monitoring and recommend appropriate actions.
• Represent Pulse's clinical viewpoint on internal AI monitoring and governance boards.
• Must be a licensed clinician (MD, DO, NP, RD, or PharmD) with over 8 years of clinical experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within digital health, health-tech, or value-based care.
• Possess deep knowledge of cardiometabolic conditions: hypertension, pre-diabetes and diabetes, obesity, and GLP-1 therapeutics.
• Proven experience in owning a clinical outcomes framework, including the definition of metrics, standards of evidence, and translating outcomes into commercial value.
• Demonstrated track record of serving as the external clinical voice for a product, including presentations to CMOs, health plan medical directors, and clinical audiences at conferences and during due diligence processes.
• Experience collaborating directly with product and engineering teams to translate clinical requirements into features, workflows, and AI behaviors.
• Comfortable establishing clinical guardrails and evaluation criteria for AI-supported or AI-driven care experiences.
• Strong writing and narrative capabilities, including the ability to create whitepapers, presentation materials, and clinical claims language.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and develop a function's clinical infrastructure from an initial limited foundation.
• Each hire must demonstrate at least Level 1 AI proficiency (Explorer), utilizing AI daily to enhance personal productivity.
