This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• The Head of Capital Raising is a senior financial position tasked with obtaining the necessary capital to support the company's carbon project development and equity expansion.
• Direct the origination and completion of equity fundraising rounds at the corporate level.
• Create engaging equity investment narratives, financial models, and materials for investors.
• Oversee the entire equity process, which includes sourcing, engaging investors, coordinating due diligence, negotiating term sheets, and finalizing transactions.
• Secure project-level financing for the company's clean cookstove carbon initiatives.
• Identify and connect with investors and financiers who have a specific interest in carbon project funding.
• Design project finance packages that align with the timelines of the projects.
• Represent the company at climate finance conferences, carbon market forums, DFI events, and investor roadshows.
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Corporate Finance & IR to ensure that fundraising materials are prepared for investors.
• Provide regular updates on the pipeline and reports on capital raising progress to the CFO and Director of Corporate Finance & IR.
• At least 10 years of hands-on capital raising experience.
• Proven track record of raising funds from institutional investors across Europe, the US, and the Middle East.
• Strong preference for experience in carbon project finance, climate finance, cleantech, or energy access.
• Previous exposure to investments in African markets or Africa-focused funds is a significant advantage.
• Experience working within or in conjunction with a Corporate Finance or CFO function is advantageous.
• Extensive, active, and verifiable network of institutional investor contacts across Europe, the US, and the Middle East.
• Solid understanding of equity deal structuring and project finance mechanics.
• Capability to develop and present investment-grade materials.
• Entrepreneurial and self-motivated work style with strong commercial insight and results-driven orientation.
• Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills; credible and persuasive with sophisticated institutional counterparts.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field is required.
• An MBA, CFA, or equivalent advanced qualification is preferred.
