Head of Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish the Accounting department at Yunicorn from the ground up, creating foundational structures, processes, systems, and tools.

• Design and execute scalable accounting and reporting frameworks.

• Choose and implement the technical infrastructure, encompassing accounting software, automation, and integrations.

• Assemble and manage your own team, both in a professional and disciplinary context.

• Provide advice and strategic support to partners and leadership on all finance and accounting issues.

• Ensure compliance, accurate financial closes, and dependable reporting across various portfolio companies.

• Create financial processes for the international ecosystem, engaging in activities across Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in accounting, preferably with a focus on building functions or leading teams.

• Experience in a VC, incubation, or startup setting is highly advantageous, especially having worked with multiple portfolio companies simultaneously.

• Technical knowledge of modern accounting systems.

• Willingness to actively digitize processes rather than merely administering them.

• Capability to maintain strict compliance while providing pragmatic solutions.

• Hands-on approach combined with strategic thinking at the partner level.
