Head of Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Establish Yunicorn’s accounting department from scratch, including foundational structures, processes, systems, and tools.

• Create and execute scalable accounting and reporting frameworks for our internationally expanding ecosystem.

• Choose and implement the necessary technical infrastructure, including accounting software, automation tools, and integrations.

• Assemble and lead your own team, both in terms of professional development and disciplinary management.

• Provide advice and strategic support to partners and management on all finance and accounting issues.

• Ensure compliance, accurate financial closing procedures, and dependable reporting across multiple portfolio companies.

• Maintain an entrepreneurial outlook throughout the entire ecosystem.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of accounting experience, preferably including responsibilities for building functions or leading teams.

• Experience in a VC, incubation, or startup setting is a significant advantage, especially with experience handling multiple portfolio companies simultaneously.

• A solid technical understanding of contemporary accounting systems.

• A proactive approach to digitizing processes rather than merely managing them.

• Strong judgment for solutions that are both compliant and practical.

• A hands-on mentality paired with strategic thinking at the partner level.

• Full commitment (Full Focus) is essential.

• A résumé is sufficient for application; cover letters and certificates are not necessary.
