This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +2 more states.
• Lead a team of Regional Operations Directors.
• Establish a culture, structure, and accountability framework that empowers hospitals to achieve outstanding medical outcomes, exceptional client and Associate experiences, and sustainable business performance.
• Take ownership of Group P&L performance, strategic growth, and long-term value generation.
• Promote operational excellence at scale, focusing on labor productivity and optimization of para-labor.
• Enhance the Associate experience through open communication and talent development.
• Support the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and progressive veterinary medicine.
• Drive Group P&L and KPI performance via regional teams and accountable operational execution.
• Strengthen the implementation of VCA and United in Care enterprise programs.
• Design and execute growth strategies, including initiatives for client acquisition and engagement.
• Oversee Group financial and business performance.
• Lead capital planning, facility enhancements, and marketing strategies.
• Exemplify VCA’s mission and The Five Principles of Mars, Inc.
• Cultivate inclusive, collaborative, psychologically safe, and high-trust teams.
• Collaborate with Medical Operations, People & Organization, Finance, Talent Acquisition, Marketing, Facilities, and other supporting functions.
• Enhance cross-hospital collaboration through a United in Care perspective.
• Support the Triad of Care model and coordinate medical training and Associate development.
• Ensure exceptional medical care and client experiences measured by NPS, alongside operational excellence across hospitals.
• Assist in attracting, hiring, onboarding, retaining, and developing veterinarians.
• Support the onboarding, training, and integration of new doctors and graduates into hospitals.
• Optimize doctor productivity, workflows, feedback, medical quality, and outcomes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Candidates must be residents of Florida, North Carolina, or South Carolina.
• A Bachelor’s Degree / MBA or DVM is preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; 12 years preferred.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Advanced digital proficiency with productivity platforms, including MS365 and cloud-based tools.
• Willingness to relocate for career advancement.
• Active participation in relevant national or state associations.
• Strong skills in Excel and Power BI.
• Extensive expertise in the veterinary, healthcare, or related services industry.
• Strong understanding of hospital operations, P&L ownership, pricing strategy, contract negotiation, revenue optimization, and labor management in multi-site healthcare or service environments.
• Ability to quickly adopt emerging technologies, enterprise systems, and AI-enabled tools.
• Skill in analyzing reports and data to establish ROI and KPIs.
• Capability to integrate business discipline with medical priorities.
• Excellent communication skills to convey complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
• Good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity, grasping ability, and visual acuity.
• Capacity to work around airborne particles, potential illnesses from patients, and chemicals related to animal care and office equipment.
• Willingness to travel within the United States up to 75% of the time.
