Group Quality Coordinator, Geochemistry

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Implement and oversee core Group Quality and Technical initiatives

• Promote developments and training in analytical methodologies

• Manage, supervise, and monitor the Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS) within laboratories

• Ensure adherence to ISO/IEC 17025 and corporate quality standards

• Track, analyze, and report on quality-related metrics, including proficiency tests, control charts, and non-conformances

• Safeguard the integrity and precision of geochemical analytical outcomes

• Serve as a primary contact between the laboratory and clients regarding quality issues

• Travel regularly to international laboratory locations for training or system implementations

• Proficient in the statistical analysis of QC data, measurement uncertainty, and control charting

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities

• Capability to convert complex quality data into concise, client-oriented reports and explanations

• Strong skills in report writing and delivering presentations

• Extensive knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 standards and the requirements of accreditation bodies

• Significant experience in both internal and external auditing, including conducting regulatory inspections

• Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and apply effective corrective actions

• Excellent relationship-building skills and adept at managing client expectations

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong planning capabilities

• Capacity to handle multiple priorities simultaneously

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

• Unwavering commitment to quality integrity, with the authority to halt work that impacts service integrity

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory

• Specific experience in a geochemistry or mineral/metals laboratory setting

• In-depth understanding of geochemical analytical techniques, including sample preparation (crushing, pulverizing, fusion) and instrumental analysis (ICP-OES, ICP-MS, XRF, Fire Assay)

• Proficiency with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and quality improvement tools, such as root cause analysis, fishbone diagrams, and uncertainty analysis

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace

• Bachelor’s degree (BSc) or diploma in Quality, Analytical Chemistry, or a related scientific field

• Fluent in English

• Regular travel to international laboratory sites for training or system implementations
