
Group Manager – General Ledger, Record to Report

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead and oversee all aspects of the Record to Report operations.
• Manage General Ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reviews, financial reporting, and period-end closing activities.
• Ensure the precise and timely delivery of services within established timelines and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Monitor operational performance, identifying risks, bottlenecks, and implementing corrective actions.
• Lead a sizeable RTR team consisting of Managers, Assistant Managers, Team Leaders, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
• Oversee performance management, staffing, workload allocation, resource utilization, coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and capability enhancement.
• Serve as the senior liaison for client stakeholders and internal leadership.
• Conduct governance meetings, manage escalations, and resolve critical challenges.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, SOX regulations, internal policies, and client-specific controls.
• Support both internal and external audits and address audit findings.
• Drive initiatives for process simplification, standardization, automation, digitization, Lean methodologies, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Automation, Technology, and Transformation teams on RPA, workflow automation, AI, and analytics projects.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as SLA compliance, closing timelines, journal entry accuracy, reconciliation aging, quality, productivity, resource utilization, backlog, and customer satisfaction.
• Assist in workforce planning, capacity management, budgeting, productivity, efficiency, and cost optimization efforts.
• Chartered Accountant (CA) is mandatory.
• 4–5 years of post-qualification experience in Record to Report (RTR) is required.
• Experience in team management is essential.
• Candidates from Mumbai are preferred or required.
• Willingness to work from the office in Mumbai–Thane is necessary.
• Availability to work US shifts from 5:30 PM to 2:30 AM is required.
• Experience overseeing General Ledger and Record to Report operations is necessary.
• Proficient in General Ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany accounting, fixed assets accounting, accruals and prepayments, balance sheet reviews, financial reporting, and closing activities for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end.
• Familiarity with internal policies, accounting standards, SOX compliance, and client-specific controls is essential.
• Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, process improvement, automation, RPA, workflow automation, AI, and analytics solutions is preferred.
