Grants Management Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the evaluation of grant management, policy revisions, and the design of post-award administration.

• Assess the methods used by an agency for tracking applications, awards, drawdowns, reporting, and closure.

• Identify control deficiencies related to allowability, matching, subrecipient oversight, and documentation practices.

• Create procedures and define roles that grants and finance personnel can adhere to.

• Provide guidance on necessary system fields and reports that an agency requires without the need to implement every system.

• Contribute to the grants qualifications and past-performance narrative in proposals only when authorized to do so.

• Differentiate between the federal, state, and local grant regulations that are actually enforced.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing or providing advice on post-award grants administration for a public agency or pass-through entity.

• Comprehensive understanding of allowability, matching, reporting, and subrecipient monitoring.

• At least two grant programs or agencies that you can detail, including your specific role in them.

• Capability to draft procedures that a grants office can utilize effectively.

• Comfortable working as a 1099 project-based collaborator, with occasional travel to client sites.

• Experience with Uniform Guidance concerning federal pass-through funds is a plus.

• Familiarity with a grants management system utilized by a city, county, state, or educational institution is a nice-to-have.
