This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Conduct research, compose, edit, compile, and submit grant proposals, competitive contract bids, concept papers, and letters of intent.
• Align funder priorities with viable projects.
• Create and maintain systems for organizing and disseminating information utilizing Salesforce, Asana, and other digital tools.
• Perform prospect research to uncover new funding sources and evaluate grant opportunities.
• Oversee a portfolio of grants and create compelling cases for support for both existing and new programs and projects.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify potential funders and grant opportunities.
• Establish timelines and work plans for proposals.
• Plan and articulate desired outcomes, objectives, deliverables, and budget requirements.
• Design, write, and compile supplemental materials for applications.
• Investigate, comprehend, monitor, summarize, and distribute information on current and upcoming grant opportunities.
• Facilitate and monitor revisions to scopes of work, budgets, and critical grant timelines.
• Keep internal teams and partner stakeholders informed throughout the process.
• Assist with funder outreach and manage direct communications.
• Draft emails to funders, meeting agendas, and funder profiles.
• Support special projects along with other departmental, divisional, and organizational responsibilities.
• Guide the grants management team's efforts on active grants, including reports, modification requests, and stewardship of funders, as necessary.
• A minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience demonstrating success.
• At least two to three (2-3) years of related work or volunteer experience in successfully submitting philanthropic, corporate, or government grant proposals.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in an educational or non-profit environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with the community college system is advantageous.
• Knowledge of fundraising office administration, including best practices, protocols, procedures, and record/data management.
• Experience in scaling and starting up programs is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Salesforce, Asana, and/or other digital systems and platforms that facilitate collaborative work and fundraising is strongly preferred.
