Grants and Contracts Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +46 more states.

📋 Description

• Support Principal Investigators and team members in identifying funding opportunities and submitting grant and contract applications to governmental and non-profit organizations.

• Oversee electronic grant submissions through grants.gov, NSF Fastlane, and the web-based applications of individual foundations.

• Develop budgets and engage in financial planning for research and sponsored proposals.

• Assist with the preparation, review, negotiation, and management of extramural awards from governmental, industrial, and other organizations.

• Draft subagreements, consulting contracts, and legal documents such as Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs), Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs), and Data Use Agreements.

• Facilitate communication between Allegheny Singer Research Institute management, accounting staff, investigators, and external organizations regarding sponsored research agreements and programs.

• Contribute to the annual budget process by supplying data on funded programs.

• Generate ad hoc reports for management and departmental administration.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned or requested by the manager.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or relevant experience and/or education as determined by the company in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience.

• Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, Public Health Service Policies, and OMB Circulars A-122 and A-133.

• Experience with electronic grant submissions via grants.gov and NSF Fastlane.

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

• Capability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks according to submission dates.

• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with care.

• Proven ability to resolve complex grant issues by interpreting and applying established policies and procedures.

• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and follow through on tasks under varying workloads, competing demands, and shifting deadlines.

• Capacity to make sound judgments and decisions.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Preferred: Master's degree.

• Preferred: Certified Research Administrator (CRA).

• Preferred: Experience in implementing, modifying, and/or adapting existing and new systems (databases) and processes.
