Grant Reviewer, Early Childhood Education – Interaction-Based Assessments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Complete the OSSE’s EGMS training and participate in the grant-specific virtual orientation webinar.

• Conduct thorough independent reviews of assigned grant applications.

• Assess applicants' proposals utilizing expertise in childcare and early learning, including interaction-based assessments.

• Fill out a fully scored rubric for each section of the application.

• Provide clear and constructive feedback that justifies and aligns with the assigned scores.

• Ensure that scores and comments are based exclusively on the applicant's EGMS submission.

• Submit scores and comments in EGMS by the designated review deadline.

• Engage in a facilitated phone or video panel discussion when there is a significant discrepancy in scores.

• Resubmit final rubrics with updated scores and comments as necessary.

• Declare any conflicts of interest and refrain from reviewing applications where such conflicts exist.

• Forward technical and grant-related inquiries to the relevant EGMS or OSSE resources.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.

• Professional knowledge in childcare and early learning programs is essential.

• Must have reliable access to a computer, internet, and a phone.

• Availability for the entire review process, including EGMS training, orientation webinar, complete review period, and facilitated discussions when needed.

• No conflicts of interest with any applicant organization, confirmed by a signed Conflict of Interest Form.

• Must not have any unsatisfactory performance evaluations from previous grant review roles with OSSE or any other grant-making organization.

• Previous experience in reviewing competitive grant applications for OSSE or another government agency is preferred.

• Familiarity with interaction-based assessments utilized to evaluate quality in childcare and early learning programs is preferred.
