Government Affairs Manager II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee Instacart's government relations at the state and local levels within the Midwest and Central United States.

• Develop and maintain connections with key policymakers and influential stakeholders in government.

• Inform policymakers about Instacart's operations, the value it brings to constituents, and the broader ecommerce environment.

• Design and implement legislative, regulatory, and political strategies.

• Prepare for and assist in hearings, regulatory processes, and provide testimony in various formats, including in-person, virtual, or written.

• Act as a representative for Instacart in regional trade organizations and industry coalitions.

• Foster third-party political, advocacy, and industry partnerships.

• Develop policy solutions and advocacy initiatives in collaboration with Policy Research and Development, legal teams, internal stakeholders, and Public Engagement.

• Educate cross-functional teams about legislative and regulatory issues.

• Update on policy changes through weekly reports and other internal communications.

• Oversee annual budgets and manage external consultants.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in state or local government, policy, or corporate government relations.

• Proven relationships with policymakers and confidence in engaging with elected officials and executives.

• In-depth knowledge of state and local legislative and regulatory processes.

• Strategic thinker with strong oral and written communication skills.

• Capability to perform well under pressure while managing both long-term and short-term objectives.

• Innovative and entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach.

• Openness to frequent travel.

• Collaborative spirit with a positive, can-do attitude.

• Preferred expertise in labor/workforce, ecommerce, or technology policy.

• Experience with Slack is a plus.
