This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom, +4 more countries.
• Act as Red Hat's technical authority for trusted software supply chain initiatives, collaborating with Account Solution Architects and Account Executives to enhance Red Hat Lightwell adoption.
• Lead technical discussions with developers, build engineers, application and platform engineering leaders, as well as security and compliance teams.
• Clearly communicate Red Hat's unique advantages compared to market alternatives.
• Integrate software supply chain solutions within the comprehensive Red Hat portfolio, which includes hardened container images, artifact signing, attestation, SBOM generation, pipeline policy enforcement, and runtime security.
• Set up and manage customer builds in Lightwell repositories, troubleshooting results alongside customer engineers.
• Facilitate pre- and post-sales technical deep dives, proofs of concept, bake-offs, internal sprints, hackathons, and partner-specific solutions.
• Identify and collaborate with customer stakeholders, advocating within customer teams.
• Provide guidance on integration with artifact management, mirroring, and pipeline environments, including disconnected and air-gapped settings.
• Offer product and solution feedback to the Lightwell business unit and engineering teams.
• Engage in community outreach and customer advocacy, including speaking at conferences and writing blog posts.
• Provide enablement and mentorship to the Red Hat Technical Sales community.
• Work collaboratively with Lightwell, engineering, sales, Customer Success, Consulting Services, and partner teams to ensure a positive customer journey.
• Minimum of 6 years' experience in software engineering, build/release engineering, platform engineering, DevSecOps, or technical sales, with direct responsibility for software that includes dependency and upgrade obligations.
• Proven ability to work hands-on in a customer or production build environment.
• Proficient in at least two of Maven, pip, and npm, with a focus on dependency resolution, transitive dependency behavior, lockfiles, and version constraint semantics.
• Practical knowledge of enterprise build configuration, registry and repository settings, as well as public package registry proxying and mirroring.
• Experience managing enterprise artifact repositories and internal mirrors.
• Capability to configure, execute, and troubleshoot builds alongside customer engineers.
• Understanding of build reproducibility, disconnected and air-gapped delivery, and multi-language codebases.
• Knowledge of SLSA build integrity levels and the practical requirements associated with Level 3.
• Familiarity with SBOM formats and lifecycle, including SPDX and CycloneDX.
• Knowledge of artifact signing and verification, including HSM-backed signing, attestation, and build/admission enforcement.
• Familiarity with VEX and CSAF, as well as machine-readable exploitability data in vulnerability triage.
• Understanding of provenance, typosquatting, and dependency confusion threat models.
• Knowledge of upstream open source contribution practices and remediation workflows.
• Experience in delivering technical presentations and leading business value discussions.
• Credibility with engineering audiences and the ability to engage in leadership or executive conversations, including public speaking.
• Skill to accurately represent product coverage and roadmap without exaggeration.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.
• Preferred: experience in sales engineering, technical sales, or similar roles, ideally within enterprise software, SaaS, or systems integrator environments.
• Preferred: hands-on software development experience in Java or Python ecosystems, particularly in dependency management and release.
• Preferred: experience managing CI/CD systems, artifact repositories, or internal developer platforms on an enterprise scale.
• Preferred: DevSecOps experience integrating security tools and policies into delivery pipelines.
• Preferred: experience in application or product security.
• Preferred: ongoing participation in an upstream open source project.
• Preferred: foundational knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, OpenShift, and Ansible Automation Platform.
• Preferred: familiarity with compliance regimes relevant to key accounts in the geography and control automation.
