This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Asia.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the comprehensive global equity settlement process across various international markets.

• Ensure accurate recording of transactions in both internal and external systems.

• Monitor daily settlement activities and pinpoint transactions that are at risk of failure.

• Investigate and resolve settlement exceptions, trade discrepancies, and transactions that are failing.

• Review buy-ins, settlement penalties, and aged fails, coordinating remediation with counterparties and custodians.

• Oversee trade matching via SWIFT and settlement platforms.

• Investigate and address discrepancies in settlement instructions, quantities, prices, allocations, bookings, FX, and market-specific issues.

• Collaborate with trading, finance, compliance, counterparties, and custodians to resolve settlement challenges.

• Conduct daily reconciliations of cash and securities positions across global markets and currencies.

• Generate reconciliation reports and rectify breaks within defined service levels.

• Ensure adherence to SEC, FINRA, and global market regulations, including SEC Rule 15c3-3.

• Maintain operational records to support audits, examinations, and regulatory reviews.

• Assist the Director of Brokerage Operations with audits, examinations, and remediation efforts.

• Generate reports on settlement activity, aged fails, reconciliation breaks, and operational metrics.

• Prepare work papers, operational summaries, root cause analyses, and management reports.

• Identify recurring issues and propose process enhancements.

• Revise operational procedures, controls, and documentation.

• Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to automate workflows and enhance settlement processes.

• Utilize SQL, Metabase, AI tools, and reporting platforms to improve efficiency and analytics.

• Engage in projects that support new products, international market expansion, and operational scalability.

• Work cross-functionally with Brokerage Operations, Trading, Finance, Compliance, Engineering, and Customer Operations.

• Support departmental initiatives and take on additional responsibilities as business needs evolve.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in brokerage operations, particularly in global equity settlements.

• Deep understanding of securities settlement lifecycles within a broker-dealer or carrying firm.

• Experience collaborating with third-party clearing firms and global custodians.

• Familiarity with U.S. broker-dealer operations and financial industry regulations.

• Knowledge of BNY Nexen or similar global custody settlement platforms.

• Proficient in SWIFT settlement messaging (MT54x series), Euroclear, DTCC, and international settlement practices.

• Experience in settling securities across global markets, including Europe and Asia (Hong Kong, South Korea, and other international regions).

• Proven expertise in performing cash and position reconciliations across various currencies and markets.

• Experience in investigating trade mismatches and working directly with counterparties to resolve settlement issues.

• Strong analytical skills to assess operational data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong interpersonal abilities.

• Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Ability to juggle multiple priorities while working independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Comfortable with remote work while collaborating with distributed teams.

• Familiarity with SQL, Metabase, or similar reporting and data analysis tools.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

• Adaptable to changing regulatory requirements and business priorities.

• Must possess the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam and Series 99 license (or higher), or obtain the Series 99 within 180 days of hire.

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (preferred).

• A minimum of five years of experience in brokerage operations, reconciliation, settlements, accounting, banking, or financial services (preferred).

• Experience with DTCC U.S. equity settlement processing (preferred).

• Knowledge of tokenized securities or digital asset settlement (preferred).

• Experience with AI-powered productivity tools (Cursor, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) (preferred).

• Background in supporting automation initiatives in collaboration with Engineering teams (preferred).

• Series 7 or additional FINRA licenses (preferred).

• Experience in a high-growth fintech or electronic brokerage environment (preferred).
