This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Design and implement global standards aimed at enhancing the reliability, availability, and performance of GE Vernova manufacturing equipment and maintenance operations.
• Analyze data and collaborate across functions to establish proactive measures that optimize generator processes.
• Achieve cost reductions through the standardization of equipment and processes, while ensuring compliance with established standards.
• Act as the primary contact for the introduction of new technologies, asset transfers, and new process implementations.
• Suggest fixturing, processes, control plans, and qualifications for manufacturing assets.
• Mentor and influence a dotted-line organization of factory technical leaders throughout the supply chain.
• Define, manage, and communicate global manufacturing asset processes, which encompass facility integration, acceptance testing, machine health assessments, calibrations, preventive maintenance strategies, spare parts planning, and technical training.
• Validate design specifications and shop-floor applications of new processes in partnership with EHS, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering, Quality, Materials, Industrialization, and Sourcing.
• Formulate and execute reliability enhancement strategies leveraging FMEA and Root Cause Analysis.
• Collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and safety teams on preventive and predictive initiatives.
• Establish equipment reliability KPIs and monitor progress toward targets.
• Foster continuous improvement initiatives aimed at minimizing equipment downtime and enhancing quality processes.
• Oversee investigations of failures and chronic issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Provide expert technical support for asset management, equipment life-cycle assessments, and optimization of spare parts.
• Engage in the design and installation of new equipment and implement processes, employing Design for Reliability principles.
• Analyze business challenges and propose best practices for products, processes, and services.
• Lead functional teams or projects, communicate complex concepts effectively, and influence stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college with at least 10 years of industrial experience in manufacturing or quality, OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 15 years of industrial experience in manufacturing or quality.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in generator manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and quality processes.
• Proficient in interpreting blueprints, specifications, drawings, and schematics.
• Proven Project Management skills and experience.
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25% globally.
• Experience in cross-functional collaboration and co-leading the implementation of manufacturing systems that support Next Generation Supply Chain migration across the Generator Value Stream globally.
• Familiarity with design for Six Sigma methodology (DFSS).
• Capability to apply lean principles, including Transformation Planning, 3P, Total Productive Maintenance, Standard Work, Kaizen, Problem Solving, and Poka Yoke.
• Experience managing a cost center or P&L, with a solid grasp of operational metrics.
• Direct leadership experience with both professional and production staff.
• Ability to coach, mentor, and influence others while leading small teams.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Capacity to lead initiatives with moderate scope and impact.
• Proficient in coordinating and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effective at identifying problems and providing solutions.
• Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills.
• Extensive manufacturing technical expertise.
• Thorough knowledge of underlying principles, methodologies, and approaches.
