Global Payroll Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Facilitate the onboarding process for employees in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

• Ensure precise employee records are maintained and coordinate all essential setup activities to support smooth and compliant payroll processing.

• Execute bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls across various entities spanning multiple states and the UK, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery.

• Oversee and manage payroll inputs, which include regular earnings, bonuses, and deductions (such as benefits and garnishments).

• Reconcile payroll before transmission to guarantee that all adjustments and changes are accurately represented.

• Establish new accounts for Withholding, SUI, and Local taxes as necessary.

• Work in collaboration with other stakeholders to update employee records, pay rates, and other pertinent data.

• Maintain a collaborative workflow with members of the People+ Team to ensure all types of leave that impact payroll are executed properly.

• Administer employee vacation, sick leave, and other paid time off accruals in line with company policies.

• Conduct regular audits to confirm that time-off balances are accurately calculated and communicated.

• Ensure compliance with applicable payroll laws in the US and UK, including federal, state, and local regulations.

• Stay informed about developments in payroll, tax, leave, and employment law across the United States and the United Kingdom.

• Provide assistance in responding to inquiries from tax agencies as required.

• Support financial audits and reconciliations by preparing detailed payroll documentation and addressing inquiries.

• Collaborate with the Finance team to reconcile payroll and resolve discrepancies.

• Capable of creating and delivering Ad Hoc reports as requested by Senior Leadership.

• Utilize Dayforce and other benefit systems to manage employee records, facilitate payroll transactions, and ensure data accuracy for employees across various jurisdictions.

• Collaborate on system implementations, upgrades, testing, and integrations to enhance payroll, benefits, and time-off processes.

• Develop and maintain complex spreadsheets and reporting tools to aid payroll calculations, reconciliations, audits, and compliance reporting.

• Apply Excel knowledge and data analysis techniques to manage extensive datasets, validate payroll information, identify discrepancies, and improve reporting efficiency.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of pertinent payroll experience, ideally in a multi-state or global organization.

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as accounting or business administration is preferred.

• Strong comprehension of US and UK payroll legislation, tax regulations, and compliance necessities, encompassing federal, state, local, and statutory payroll obligations.

• Proficiency in Dayforce Payroll and HCM, with experience in supporting multi-jurisdiction payroll operations, maintaining data integrity, and generating payroll, compliance, and workforce reports.

• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.

• Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational capabilities.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clarify complex payroll concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while proactively prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

• Highly motivated, decisive, solution- and results-oriented, with the flexibility and creativity to thrive in a rapidly evolving environment.
