This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Direct global payroll operations in various countries, ensuring payroll delivery is accurate, timely, and compliant.
• Create, implement, and uphold scalable payroll policies, procedures, controls, and standard operating practices across different jurisdictions.
• Supervise payroll processing, audits, reconciliations, reporting, and issue resolution.
• Spearhead payroll transformation initiatives, encompassing RFPs, vendor assessments, system implementations, and migration to a global payroll platform.
• Assist with payroll integration activities during M&A transactions.
• Cultivate relationships with external payroll vendors and service providers.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, Tax, and IT on payroll compliance, reporting, systems, controls, and employee-related processes.
• Provide leadership and support to local payroll teams across global operations.
• Analyze payroll metrics, trends, and recurring issues to pinpoint risks and enhance efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, processing issues, and compliance concerns.
• Stay updated on global payroll regulations, market practices, and emerging trends.
• Manage various payroll-related projects within tight timelines while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, service quality, and effective communication with stakeholders.
• Report directly to the VP of Total Rewards and oversee a globally distributed payroll team.
• Over 5 years of progressive payroll experience, including payroll operations in the U.S. and international jurisdictions such as EMEA, APAC, LATAM, and Canada.
• Proven experience leading or supporting global payroll transformation, process enhancement, system implementation, vendor migration, or payroll platform consolidation initiatives.
• In-depth knowledge of payroll tax, wage and hour regulations, compliance, and reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, finance, accounting, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated capability to lead, influence, and collaborate effectively with HR, Finance, Legal, Tax, IT, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to think strategically while remaining hands-on in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Sound judgment, discretion, confidentiality, and a strong sense of urgency in handling sensitive payroll issues.
• Preferred experience in professional services, consulting, or other complex global business settings.
• Familiarity with global payroll vendors, HRIS/payroll systems, payroll integrations, or M&A payroll transitions is preferred.
• Master’s degree in human resources, business, finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.
