
Global Onsite Lab Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Evaluate, analyze, and develop financial models and proposals for both new and existing onsite laboratories.
• Collaborate with clients, as well as SGS regional and country personnel, to discuss requirements, costs, and timelines.
• Partner with operating affiliates to facilitate the planning, scheduling, and coordination essential for executing and managing new onsite laboratory constructions and startups.
• Model each onsite laboratory opportunity using data gathered from regional teams.
• Collaborate with the team and regional management to secure technical and operational approval for the developed models.
• Prepare or assist in the creation of technical proposals and/or tender submissions.
• Engage with clients to identify new onsite laboratory opportunities, validate RFP details, and negotiate to secure projects for SGS.
• Coordinate with local operating teams to schedule and oversee new onsite laboratory designs, constructions, renovations, and expansion initiatives.
• Verify and track laboratory equipment procurement to ensure completeness, adherence to global standards, and timely delivery.
• A university degree in a Science or Engineering field, with a strong preference for a Geosciences discipline (Geology, Mines, Mineralogy, Environmental Mineralogy, Soil Science, etc.).
• Relevant technical experience in a geosciences-related field, including some exposure to business management or personnel management.
• Solid understanding of the mining and minerals sector.
• Demonstrated ability in time management and a keen attention to detail.
• Capacity to perform effectively under pressure.
• Flexibility to work extended or irregular hours due to collaboration with global teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others as well as independently, without supervision.
• Competence in team management.
• Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly professional environment.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in grammar and composition in English.
• Knowledge of additional languages beyond English (French, Spanish, Russian, Arabic, etc.) is advantageous.
• Employees have the option to work remotely.
• Some international travel may be necessary.
