Global Onsite Lab Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Evaluate, analyze, and develop financial models and proposals for both new and existing onsite laboratories.

• Collaborate with clients and SGS regional and country personnel to discuss requirements, costs, schedules, and other related matters.

• Partner with operating affiliates to facilitate planning, scheduling, and coordination for the establishment and startup of new onsite laboratories.

• Model onsite laboratory opportunities utilizing data gathered from regional teams.

• Secure technical and operational approval from team and regional management.

• Prepare or assist in the formulation of technical proposals and tender submissions.

• Engage with clients to explore opportunities, validate RFP details, and negotiate to secure projects for SGS.

• Organize and monitor new onsite laboratory designs, constructions, renovations, and expansions alongside local operating teams.

• Verify and oversee laboratory equipment procurement to guarantee adherence to global standards and timely project completion.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a Science or Engineering discipline, with a strong preference for a Geosciences-related field (Geology, Mines, Mineralogy, Environmental Mineralogy, Soil Science, etc.).

• Relevant technical experience in a geosciences-related profession, coupled with some exposure to business management or personnel management.

• In-depth understanding of the mining and minerals sector.

• Demonstrated time management capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Capacity to perform effectively under pressure.

• Flexibility for extended and/or irregular hours may be necessary due to global team engagement.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with others as well as work independently without supervision.

• Competence in team management.

• Proven track record of managing and coordinating multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly professional environment.

• Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities, including grammar and composition in English.

• Proficiency in additional languages besides English is advantageous.

• Some international travel may be required.
