Global Category Manager – Logistics, Packaging, Indirect Procurement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement comprehensive global category strategies in Logistics and Packaging.

• Oversee strategic sourcing efforts encompassing transportation, freight, warehousing, customs, packaging materials, and suppliers.

• Cultivate and manage relationships with logistics providers, including both 3PL and 4PL partners, along with key packaging suppliers.

• Negotiate both global and regional contracts that enhance value, elevate service levels, and fortify supply chain resilience.

• Collaborate with manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and procurement teams across North America, Europe, and Asia.

• Discover opportunities to optimize packaging specifications, minimize waste, and advance sustainability objectives.

• Propel supplier performance, initiate continuous improvement projects, and ensure effective category governance.

• Evaluate and mitigate commercial and supply chain risks across both categories.

• Lead cross-functional procurement initiatives from strategy formulation to execution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in procurement or category management within Logistics, Packaging, or ideally both.

• In-depth category knowledge in freight, transportation, warehousing, customs, and logistics services.

• Proven track record in sourcing and managing packaging categories, including supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and cost optimization.

• Experience in managing strategic supplier relationships and delivering quantifiable business value.

• Excellent commercial and negotiation abilities, with a history of achieving savings and operational enhancements.

• Comfortable working in a global manufacturing or industrial setting.

• Capable of influencing stakeholders across various functions, regions, and levels of seniority.

• Self-driven and adept at working remotely while maintaining strong connections to the business.

• Preferred location within the Eastern Time Zone.
