This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Assume primary responsibility for the preparation of accounting and month-end closure.
• Transition the accounting function from external management to in-house operations gradually.
• Play a pivotal role in the NetSuite implementation, encompassing process design, data migration, and system logic.
• Report to management and the parent company, SAMY Group.
• Offer accounting expertise and assist in the development of the Accounting team.
• Create processes and frameworks for insourcing and utilizing NetSuite.
• Contribute to the development of automation and reporting capabilities.
• Several years of comprehensive accounting experience in daily operations, alongside the ability to build and enhance robust processes.
• Strong familiarity with German GAAP (HGB), capable of preparing financial statements or generating closing-ready materials for tax advisors.
• A completed degree in business administration, economics, or a related discipline focusing on accounting, or have passed the German Certified Balance Sheet Accountant examination along with equivalent extensive professional experience.
• A solid understanding of the income statement, balance sheet, and double-entry bookkeeping principles.
• Excellent IT proficiency.
• Skilled in Excel and Google Sheets.
• Demonstrated experience with ERP systems; knowledge of NetSuite is preferred.
• SQL skills are an advantage.
• Strong stakeholder management abilities, with the competence to prioritize competing demands and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient in both German and English; German language skills at a minimum of C1 level.
• Confident and pragmatic use of AI tools.
• Independent, organized, dependable, and results-oriented approach to work in a remote environment.
• Willingness to adopt a hands-on role and provide technical leadership without direct personnel responsibilities.
• Nice to have: Experience in an agency, scale-up, or mid-sized service company.
